FAQS

  • I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so we can get to know one another before scheduling a therapy session. Here’s what you can typically expect:

    • I ask why you are seeking therapy

    • I tell you about myself, my background, and my approach

    • You can ask any other questions that you’d like

    • We can discuss availability and next steps

  • If we both believe we would be a good fit to work together, next up is scheduling our first session! Once that’s scheduled, I’ll be sending you some forms to fill and sign. I will also send over information about our meeting platform.

  • During our first one to two sessions, I’ll be asking a lot of questions to get a better idea of all aspects of your life that you’re willing to share. As a therapist, I like to take a collaborative and non-judgmental approach which will make it easier to build trust. I understand the unique difficulty of disclosing hard experiences to a new person, and cater my questions and pace to the needs of my clients. During the course of therapy you will be able to gain insights, challenge your thought patterns, and learn new ways to cope through it all.

  • I typically see most of my clients on a weekly basis. I like to suggest committing to a weekly schedule, at least for the first few weeks, until you and I are both comfortable with the progress you are making. Then, I may suggest you decrease sessions as appropriate.

  • The length of your therapy journey is up to you. If you are looking for a solutions-oriented approach, you can expect to see significant changes around 6 months. Some clients prefer long-term work and have stayed on for ongoing support although they have already seen improvements.
