MATRESCENCE THERAPY CAN BE SCARY, BUT KNOW THIS:
Reaching out is the work.
Whether you’re tired of holding it all together or talked yourself out of reaching out twice already because you’re not sure you’re “bad enough” to need therapy, accepting help is the hardest part.

Yes, purposefully so. Matrescence therapy is specifically focused on the identity transformation of becoming a mother — the psychological, emotional, and nervous system changes that happen when your whole sense of self gets rearranged by parenthood. While general therapy can be helpful for anxiety or depression broadly, matrescence therapy looks at those experiences through the specific lens of this season. That means we're not starting from scratch every session explaining what a 3am feed does to your nervous system or why the mental load is genuinely that heavy. I already know. We get to go deeper, faster.

Yes! I'm in-network with:
Optum (United Healthcare, Oscar, Oxford, etc)
Aetna
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts
Carelon
Quest
Regence BlueCross Blue Shield of Utah
Private pay is $225 per 50-minute session. I can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement if your plan has OON benefits. Limited sliding scale slots are also available, because therapy should be accessible.
If you aren’t sure what you have, reach out and we'll figure it out together.

If you’re thinking "but I'm not that bad," that's actually one of the most common things I hear from moms who need this most. My clients are almost always high-functioning on the outside. They're not in crisis. They're exhausted, on edge, grieving a version of themselves they can't quite tap into anymore, and wondering when they're going to feel okay again.
You don't have to hit rock bottom to deserve support. Feeling like something is off is enough. Feeling like you've lost yourself is enough. Feeling like you're surviving instead of living is enough.
That’s what I’m here for.

Both! I offer in-person therapy at my office in Burbank, California. I also offer virtual therapy for moms anywhere in California and across Utah.
(And yes, virtual is just as effective. For a lot of moms, it's the reason they were finally able to start.)

Absolutely. I'm licensed in Utah and offer telehealth therapy for moms across the state. All you need is a private space and a decent wifi connection. (Your car counts. The bathroom counts. Stepping outside on your porch by yourself for a little while counts. Showing up with a baby strapped to your chest also counts.)
Hi mama - I’m Gina
In case you're still on the fence about whether I'm your person
I'm a matrescence therapist and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional who works specifically with moms in the thick of early motherhood...
The postpartum anxiety, the depression, the rage, the touched-out overwhelm, and the identity crisis that nobody warned you was coming.
I'm not the therapist who sits silently and lets the awkward air hang there while you try to string together words that you think will get you an A+ in therapy. (A true girl’s girl would never leave you hanging like that.) I show up as a real human. I'll laugh with you, I'll call things what they are, and I'll take your struggles seriously without making the whole thing feel heavy and clinical.
I work virtually with moms in Utah and in person in Burbank, California, and am currently accepting insurance and private pay. If any part of you is thinking "I think I need this," trust that part.
